Delhezi bichir fin nipping?

Hello I have two dels in a divided 75g grow out with my baby JD on the other side they are about 3.5 inchs recently I noticed that the smaller one about 3" has torn back fins I though polys especially upper jaw were not so territorial or aggresive with each other could it have just been a sharp edge on the tank? or is it common for bichirs to fin nip

Probably from nipping. Should resolve once the hierarchy is established. Watchful waiting for now.

I have the same issue. Ornate and del in grow out and the del has some nipping on the back fin. Just providing plenty of hides and clean water. Ornate has claimed his territory by the sponge filter but I think the del is too bold to stay away from that turf. Both are too small still to separate into my larger tank.

Noticed my male senegal nipping my female but he is ready to spawn lol. The most territorial UJ polypterus I have kept were Ornate"s.
