72 gallon tank, just wondering if it would be possible to keep these two together?

I wouldn’t I think flowerhorns are too territorial to be kept with bichirs there are plenty of peaceful medium size cichlids you can try with some research

Yeah if it wont work out that's what I will do, just curious if anyone had experience with it

I’ve kept Oscars with Delhezi but depends on the individual Cichlids personality I think

I used to keep some 8-9 inch senegals with a 10 inch flowerhown and other american cichlids in a 5ft tank for 4 months without issue. I did however end up moving him as he got larger and I got more paranoid about him doing anything to them. It may have been fine but bichir's are rare here and decided it wasn't worth the risk. So if its a small flowerhorn id say it can be done. Depends on sizes.

If I ended up doing this I'd probably get it at a smaller size so I can watch it grow, so yeah depending on what all I can find around me would probably determine that

If the Flowerhorn stared out small id say go for it just monitor it. Usually Flowerhorn's are most aggressive to other american cichlids in my experience. Poly's are ignored. My flowerhorn and one of my senegals were actually good buddies always rubbing on each other and swimming together.

DIY king had flowerhorn with stingrays, idk if that would count but they are bottom dwellers like polys, but if it were me you wont do it cause i know flower horn are aggressive.
