Ok so ever since i moved my 6" delhezi to my 180 gallon hes been eating ALOT. Everytime i see him his stomach protrudes from his body about an inch and a half, and i cant control how much he eats because i need to feed everyone else in the tank. My question is, can he become really obese or die from this behavior?

I don't think he'll die from it anytime soon, but it definitely isn't too healthy for him to be eating that much.

Thanks Dr.b, is there anything i can do to stop him from eating so much? He literally looks like a balloon swimming around.

I would suggest finding which polys in the tank don't eat/would need constant attention to try and make sure they are getting enough food. I would separate them to another tank. Then I would just fast the tank the delhezi and remaining polys are in every couple days to prevent your delhezi from stealing the food from the polys that need it and also from getting too big.

Well i have a lot of different fish in this tank, and not really an extra one where i can fast him. Ive been feeding about every other day to see if it helps but it takes him a while to digest its previous meal.

Do you have any polys or fish in the tank that wouldn't be able to fast? Or can they all deal with a couple days of fasting?

Could try spot feeding everyone else and letting him eat the leftovers. My congicus is already showing signs of gluttony, so I've been using my reacher grabber to put food close to everyone but him. He still finds their piles, but they've usually gotten plenty by then. I have to do the same thing in my grow out tank, otherwise my endli eats everything, and I mean everything.
I've noticed that my desk are much more prone to obesity if I overfeed. A trend, maybe.

Well, i dont like fasting my geos, pearl gouramis, L25 or tiger moray eel. Everyone gets food as is, and im pretty sure my delhezi comes out last, but i try to leave food over night for my weeksii and tiger moray as they normally dont come out during the day.

Only other thing I can think of instead of separating him is using a divider.

I guess there isnt an easy solution to this problem is there? :/ Alright thanks for the advice guys im going to keep monitoring him and see if i can figure something out.
