Does anyone know how fast these guys should grow? I bought one at about 3 inches in the middle of this past December, and he doesn't seem to have grown much. He's still not quite 4". I'm comparing this to my Senegal who grows like he's on friggin steroids.

I offer him a variety of food from pellets, no raw shrimp, tilapia, and blood worms and keep the water clean, but he's still growing slowly. Is this normal?

yeah its normal for some reason they just don't grow that fast my friend has one and it takes forever for them to grow.

i got one about 2.5" and he grew pretty slow then all of a sudden he hit a spurt and grew like 1.5" in a month, just be patient his growth will come :P

I have 2 Delhezis (4" and 5") in a grow-out with an Endli (7").

The Dels have only grown about an inch from when I got them. The Endli has grown twice as fast.

So, I think the slow growth rate is just my perception as I am comparing them to the Endli.

Cheers,
Sid

Its slow all right. I got mine at 4" about 2 month ago. Now its only 6"

Excellent. I was beginning to worry he might be sick. Thanks for the input, guys.

go and get some earthworms from walmart or somewhere, cut the worm into small enough pieces so he can just swallow it right away.. ive found with any fish i had fed earthworms it shoots their growth up due to the high quality.. you should see a difference within a week of earthworms every other day or so.. goodluck

My Delhezi has grown tripled in size since November. When I got him he was only 2inchs so small you couldn't even see his external lungs and I had to break the small Hikari carnivore pellets in 1/4s just so it was small enought for him to eat. He was feed bloodworms and brineshrimp. Nows he's 6-6.5 inches. Although he may slow down in growth soon. Not sure why a Del is consider somewhat slow growing.

Well, something was actually wrong with him. I was doing water changes today, and he was dead.

Totally bummed my day...
