Probably the Poly section
Just picked up a little Delhezi and wondering how quickly I can expect him to grow. Feeding on frozen bloodworms, beefheart and im guessing he'll pick off some of the ghost shrimp I regularly stock the tank with for the baby Dat. He's about 3.5" right now in a fully planted 125 kept around 80º if that will make any difference. I know my Bala's growth skyrocketed when I bumped the temperature up. Thanks!

Maybe 1/2"-1" a month, really depends on how good the genes are, each poly grows different, if feed twice a day and always have clean water they can grow faster, but then they start to slow down once it hits 8" or so. Try feeding live worm and tilapia, its better than bloodworm.

I have two delhezis. The first one I've had for about 7 months and has gone from 2.5" to only about 6-6.5". The second one I've had for about 3 months and has gone from 2" to about 4". I feed them twice a day until about 4" and then once a day after that, with one day of fasting a week. I do 1 or 2 water changes a week, totaling 25-40% of their tank's volume.

Of all my polypterus they have been the slowest growing, especially the first one I got. But I will say that the first one is probably my favorite of all of them. Really active and lots of personality. You'll love your new guy

Alright thank you! I usually feed twice a day. Once with the lights on and once with the T5's off and just a single LED dome on for a dimmer atmosphere. Water quality isnt usually an issue, I try to stay on top of changes and swap out my carbon and other media in the FX5's regularly. Ive heard the delhezi's grow slower so I wanted to ask. My ropefish is a tank, a shy tank but a tank none the less haha. Can't wait for the Delhezi to get to that point. How many is too many though? I thought id start with one but I love all the shots you guys post of multiple polys piled up in in your tanks.

125 gallon w/ baby datnoid and 3.5" delhezi. Shanerbrock888 post #3 is a great testimonial on growth. I assume datnoid has not been pellet trained. My smaller indo datnoid is not and just on fz tilapia. Delhezi will eat this. I'd suggest skipping beef heart cuz it's not healthy long term. Good luck. Your delhezi should reach to 10-12" in a year. Datnoid 10-12"
