i plan on getting a delhezi bichir to put in my 70 gallno tank, dimensiosn are 48 x18x18 would that be big enough?

yep thats fine, what else will it be in with?
mines never bothered anything, although i did have some tiger barbs in there which mysteriously disappeared and then the bichir had a big growth spurt...coincidence???

me thinks not lol

it will be in there with a clown knifefish until the clown knife outgrows the tank, and possibly a oscar, but im not sure, any suggestions as to some sweet tankmates for this guy?

Polypterus are pretty easy to get along with.. I would get more Polys.. lol

the CK may outgrow the del before it outgrows the tank, depending on size. O's can be risky w/ polys, too for the same reason and they can sometimes be aggressive to polys, but is not always the case.

as far as tankmates goes, more bichirs are the best tankmates :D

It'll be fine in that tank size. I'd go with something with a smaller appetite than an Oscar to be on the safe side. Go with Sevs, BGK, and more Polys :D

lol, sounds like everyone is trying to get my hooked on polys, lol, yeah, one for sure, and very very possibly a few more, what would be a good diet

I have 3 polys in a 55 and they do fine you should be fine but skip the oscar and knifefish. Get more polys, SD, eels do well along with mellow medium size cichlids.
