Hello I am stocking my 125 in a few weeks once it is done cycling and the stock is (tentatively)
1x gold severum
1x bgk
1x datnoid
1x lima cat
1x hepsetus odoe
3x delhezis
3x albino sens
1x polypterus congicus
1x endli
1x polpterus palmus
1x south American lung fish

this may be overstocked, but the tank will be filtered by an fx5 and two HOB filters that do 350 gph each with two biowheels on each

so my main question for this thread is: I am ordering from tropical fish distributors and which would be a better deal
11472 POLYPTERUS DELHEZI (TANK RAISED) 2.5-3" 17.50
11473 POLYPTERUS DELHEZI 9-12" 60.00

i have heard that as well but i would like to order all the fish from one place and TFD is cheap and has a great selection

with rehoboth aquatics you'll know you're getting exactly what you ordered. with tfd, its a bit iffy. the pictures on his aquabid don't match the species he's selling some times... so i was always scared to order from him. however, i've gotten the long finned senegals and the albino senegal from him, and those were correct, although the long finned senegals came in with parasites and one had almost no water left in the bag (must've popped during transport).

its your call... but for quality bichirs, go rehoboth aquatics. (he just doesn't have the albinos and long finned ones unless they came that way from the wild.)

i understand that i am taking a chance but to pay 80$ to ship the TFD fish and then a different 80$ to ship the bichirs and have to be home all day for the package another day it is just not worth it to me
this is not a debate on which vendor is better so lets get back to the original question ;)

The tank raise delhezi from tfd have hardly any stripes. The big ones may or may not have any stripes I think those may be wild caught, their ornates are nice looking, I saw one at a lfs in cleveland, but the little delhezi's are not worth it they look like a senegal with black spots on the back half of the body. Rather thanway up the body with the nice bands on the wild caught ones. If you get one get the bigger one.
