So I am getting a new tank next week and am looking around what what to get for it. I went to a lfs today and was surprised to see a Delhezi! It looks so cool swimming around. Its around 3 inches in length and was for $28 or $38(cant remember). The tank that I will be getting is going to be 125g(5ft long), the dimensions are 60in x 18in x 26in (LxWxH). I had a could of ideas that I wanted to do if I were to pick up the Delhezi.

1. Go with an African setup. I would look to add the Delhezi, 1x African Brown Knife, 1x African Butterfly, 1x African leaf fish, 1x Synodontis (not sure what kind maybe just Eupterus) and 2x Rope Fish. If I were do go with this option could I add a BN pleco? I've herd people say that plecos eat the slime coat sometimes, but do BN do that too? Would you guys recommend anything else to this? Maybe a school of congo tetras or more of what I already have listed?

2. My original plan was to move my Red Severum and Blue Acara to the new tank, add an Oscar, BN, and Synodontis. Would a Delhezi mix well in this tank?

Here are some photos of the Delhezi from my crappy phone:

Well i love Delhezi, they are one of my favorite fish.
1. I have had bad experiences with a BN, so I would say no.
Congo tetras work while the Del is smaller, but they do grow large enough to eat Congo tetras, so they would only work short term.

2. I would imagine it could work, it depends on what your oscar is like. I keep mine with GT, and a very friendly jag (very abnormally peaceful) and a couple of JD, and they are fine, but then the poly's are as large as the cichlids.

BN plecos worked great with my polys the only con I had with them is that they are to small so even though they are mostly good with polys at full grow size the 2 don't fit and 1 ends up getting eaten.

1. Seems fine for now but, once you got your delhezi home you will really realize how addicting they become.
Trust me I started with a Senegal from petsmart and, haven't stopped since.

2. Never had problems with cichlids and polys but, I only have a true Parrot fish with mine.

Thanks for the replies! lol I hope there not too addicting. I think I am going to go with the African setup. Do you guys suggest adding something else to the setup?
