Delhezi Tankmates

Well im plaing a trip to my lfs and im hoping to get a small delhezi and what tank mates would be able to go with it in a stadard 55 gallon tank. I am open to any suggestions since i know nothing about tankmates for bichirs. I was looking for something along the lines of a chiclid and also snails to clean the tank since plecos are out of the question

you've got countless options here. polyp's can go with almost anything except the most aggressive fish and fish that are small enough to fit in their mouths. you could get a jack dempsey, leopard ctenopoma's, angels......basically if you find a fish that you can keep in a 55 gallon tank, it should be fine with the delhezi as long as there isn't too much of a size difference when they are introduced together.

1 or 2 delhizi
3 angelfish
1 Jack dempsy

ya thats not exactly what i ment. You could probably go with 2 delhezi and a jack dempsey (remember all three of these get around 12") or 2 delhezi and 3 angelfish

well in that case ill prob go with the 3 angels and 2 delhezi

Ok so I got some angels today and I also saw some rainbow sharks and remembered that I had one a couple of years ago and was thinking about getting 2 would this work

3 angels
1 delhezi
2 rainbow sharks

no, you can keep one rainbow shark in there, but if you get two of them, you'll have one again shortly. they can't stand their own kinda and one of them will chase the other one to death. just get one of them if anything.

Only if the shark is small enough to fit in the bichir's mouth. Then, yes.
