Delhezi with baby gills

Hello everyone,

I have 4" Delhezi who still has his baby gills. Is there something I should be doing to encourage the growth of his adult gills, or is there a reason he isn't developing them?

my ornate still had externals showing until it was past 6 inches. ive read several different things about it. good water quality, bad water quality and just one of those things. I wouldnt worry about it too much. they will dissappear in time

+1 my weeksi just lost his a couple weeks ago (he's about 8 inches)

I am looking at three juvenile ornates at about 4 inches with extended gills. I have heard they start to lose them at about 5 inches. Guess we will gave to wait and see. lol

For some the externals would stuck with them cause I seen and been told about it.Not quite sure why though.
But most cases the externals would disappear.
