:swear: My delhezi's eyes were bitten off by my convict. Both of them are gone and his eye sockets are bleeding. The convict kept attacking him so i had to remove it. Is there any way i should treat him and will he be ok?

that sucks. how bigs the bichir? the bigger he is, the better chance he has of getting around. this sis bad, but the worst is over, so there is no need to uthanise it. has the bicher ever taken food out of your hand? He still has his sence of smell, and lateral line. the best set-up now, would probaby non-aggressive, too large to swallow fish, like silver dollars, grown sevrums and such. You will probaby have to hand feed it alot, or choose a familar spot, rubber band some food to that spot, and put it in the sellected spot. in time, it will learn to remember

It can survive. You might want to add some melafix to help it through a stressed time. Sorry to hear it happened though.

he is about 6", i think he will be ok since there sense of smell is better than their sense of sight

Add melifix as a preventitive and keep the water as clean as possible-Anne

that sucks hard

i agree with beblondie about the melifix

you might also want to try using some salt

You are correct. These are resilient fish and your del will adapt to being sightless. It will probably swim along as if nothing happened once it's healed.
