so ihave a 37 gal cube tank laying around, i was wondering if its possible to keep demasoni in it, its dimensions are 24x18x20, I could get pretty creative with the rockwork in that footprint and filtering would be eshopps wetdry rated to 75 gallons with some kind of hob, if they wont work are there any alternative that are active? I wont be doing this for two months or so because i am in a little financial crunch at the moment. I am a pretty experienced fishkeeper but never africans, all feedback much appreciated

do it...they stay relatively small... and your filtration sounds good, so you could put a few in there....and they are quite attractive

I would go with Saulosi they are dwarf Mbuna and don't need as big a tank. Remember Mbuna like rocks and caves and once you start putting those in the gallons disappear.

saulosi males are blue and females yellow correct? what kinda NUMBERS WOULD I BELOOKING AT WITH THESE

The more dominant males are the blue with bars kind of like the demasoni. The females are yellow, but some males will stay yellow to escape harrassment. With that filtration I would say 10+/- in that tank with lots of caves they are almost as mean as demasoni.

I would not keep demasoni in a 24" tank. I kept them in a 4' tank and grew tired of the crazy aggression. They did very well in a 6' tank.
