Demasoni question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, it is not normally suggested to mix mbuna and peacocks. On top of that, single demasoni have been known to wipe out entire tanks overnight. That may not happen to you, but it could. Normally it is recommended to keep demasoni in groups of at least 8, but some say even at least 12.

All in all, I wouldn't do it.

I have a bunch of demasoni in with a few peacocks and haps in a 120g. no issues. Demasoni didnt get that rep for nothing though. They can wipe out a tank pretty quickly. If you try it keep an eye on things.

I would do it, but like everyone else is saying definitely keep a sharp eye on it or you could have a mess on your hands.

It may work. I have a 4.5" demasoni male with one female and they breed each month. I had two females, he killed one and has lived happily with the other. This is within a 75g with 30 Mbuna and 4 breeding species.
