Hi, i have a 55g demasoni only tank with a group of 16 dont kno how many m/f and was wondering if i added yellows would they be mostly for show or would the yellows keep the dems from fight and bitn each others tails

may cause over stocking. malawi cichlids fight alot and adding more does distribute aggression but seems like you already have a large number of demasonis. any casualties recently ? I'd love to see a pic of ur tank.
and you're right, yellow labs would certainly add a lot of contrast to the tank. so good luck adding labs. I'd recommend reducing demasonis and then adding labs.

Demasoni like to fight with demasoni and anything else that looks like a demasoni. One of the reasons Lab/demasoni tanks work so well is because the demasoni tend to ignore the much more peaceful labs. I don't think you can have a demasoni tank without nipped fins.
