My demasonii just gave me 25 baby's how awesome is that. Now question I checked on her everyday to see if she was ready to spit out the baby and sure enough after 4wks she was ready. So i held her in my hand pressed on her gills and boom the baby's came out..Was i wrong for doing that??:headbang2

What are you some type of fish doctor. I don't know why you just did not let it take the natural course.

They tend to eat there own babies...Fish doctor maybe so, but I just figured by doing reasearch you could hold the fish in your hand and press the gills..Baby's came out fine there all still alive and they eat well. Growing in their nursey before transport them into there own tank..This is the second time i do it this way..

She must have been a pretty large fish to carry that many eggs. My two demasoni's have only carried 6 each and just released 11 recently.

When I used to have demasonii, I'd get about 20+ per batch too.

I usually take the holding mom and put her in a 10g until she releases them. Then I just put her back in the main tank and grow out the babies :)

Have fun! More WC = increased growth rate! :)

yeah she is at a mature level, however if you look at the father "he's a beast"..dominator of all the demasoni's..

thank you i most definetly will..im going to now try and breed yellow labs..however what do you mean by "wc" water cycle..if so well I must say I don't change my water but once every 4 to 5 months..it maintains very well..and I don't change my water I strain my water the quality of it is in great shape..last time she had babies I did change the water but the babies 7 babies died...

WC = Wild Caught usually... but in this case I think they meant water change
