hey people, im new around here...mostly a reader not much of a poster so bear with me here...and great site btw...so i have a dempsey in a 20g long rock cave setup pretty decent setup i think...well my question is about nutrion and diet...what would be the best diet for a dempsey...i currently feed him some flake and pellet, very little, mostly tuffies and feeder goldfish and just started earthworms...he enjoys all these, but im just wondering is there better and if so what, maybe portion sizes and how often?...i want a happy healthy dempsey...so any help would be great and appreciated...thanks josh
One more thing, what kinda cichlid is a dempsey?is what forum would i find him?

Well... the more you feed him the faster he will grow. As long as you don't feed him so much a ton of it falls to the floor uneaten then you are fine.

Feeding him a variety like you are doing will also get him to grow faster and be even healthier. One thing to watch out about feeders is a lot of the feeders are diseased and sick. If you are able, you may want to quarantine them first to let the sick ones die off. But if you can't you will probably be ok, but some of those sick feeders do kill the main fish unfortunately.

demseys are CA/SA cichlids
