Hey guys,

I noticed this "growth like" horn appear on one of my female brown ray's tail about a year ago. The thing finally shed off and it appears to be some kind of dermal scute? Has anyone seen anything like this? It feels similar in composition to barbs.

Weird but cool. Try casting it in resin, and sanding and polish to make a cool necklace with it

I have seen this before. There was a member here who had a big albino that would shed them regularly. He said he thought it was a typical thing when another member saw one shed.

I do not have an explanation of it other than that.

I think he should make it into a necklace
