Probably the Poly section
So I was at the San Diego Zoo and I saw an enclosure that was desert themed and had multiple african species in it, several agamas, tortoises and turtles. I started thinking and am now wondering if I could create a similar enclosure with my desert iguana and tiger whiptail. I'm considering getting a large enclosure and custom building an insert to go in it to recreate their desert then possibly getting some side blotches or a banded gecko and having a desert lizard community. Any ideas?

My only concern would be what your tiger whiptail would do to the small lizards. If yours is A. tigris, they can be quite the little cannibals. I used to maintain a large breeding group of them and if they ever got hungry they were not above picking out a weak one and sacrificing it to the hunger gods.
 
I'm not 100% sure he's a tiger. He's wild caught and I was told it was a cloning species and eventually it would start laying eggs but I doesn't look like those ones. I'll see if I have a pic of him. Give me a minute

It is a bit tough to tell which species you have sometimes but I can tell you that if it is a tiger, which it does resemble, then it is not a parthenogenetic species. However, yours could be a light colored A. tesselata, and that is a cloning species.
 
If you want a parthogenetic species that produces a lot of eggs then you should try to get an A. tesselata or A. neomexicana. We had so many "neo" babies we would use them as feeders.
 
Okay. He is from around page Arizona. I wouldn't mind having a few more of them that's for sure! They would make perfect kingsnake food:P I put the ig in with him and so far so good. I'll start looking for like a 40 breeder or bigger and work on my insert:)

Where on Earth do you find cloning lizards? I'd love to get a few!
 
There's lots of parthogenic species. Several geckos, some whiptails, a few monitors even ( they recently had a Komodo dragon reproduce parthogenetically) my lfs sells parthogenic house geckos as feeders for kingsnakes and other reptile eating critters:) my king enjoys one every few months. Been in with the whiptail in a 20 long for a few days now and no problems. The whiptail will climb on the iguanas head to get closer to the basking light even and goes and laps up the water I spray on the iguana's lettuce. The only thing I'm really worried about is the whiptail nipping the iguana's tail or toes, but he seems happy with his roaches so I'm not too worried. I'll post some pics ASAP
