What programs are out there that are good for like 3D design. Say if i wanted to make a 3D design of my tank and stand and so on.

Do a search for Google SketchUp 7. I just got it and it seems pretty cool...it's free too. Cant beat that.

Solid Works, Pro Engineer and AutoCAD. You can get a 30day trial version of AutoCAD and Pro E not sure about solid works. Unless you have some experience with 3D design software these have a steep learning curve.

go with google sketch up, its like a 3d MSpaint, simple and works
