Sadly, I'll have to wait some time, before I can get my own place with room big enough for oscar tank. It also wouldn't be smart to get this wonderful fish and after some time give it a hard time while moving to other place, but my passion for fishes won't change, so I'll get a betta for now. Just doesn't know what kind of tank to get for that lovely buddy.

Found this one:

It's 22 liters (about 5.8 gallons), with light, filter and heater. Diameter - 30 cm (about 11.8 inches), height - 35cm (about 13.7 inches). So, what do you think about this one? I have hear that round shaped tanks, like bowls, aren't good for fish, is this true? Would this be good for one male and female, if I eventualy later get a pair?

Maybe you have some other suggestions? My plan is that tank would be on my desk.

Nothing wrong with round tanks. It's more along the lines of surface area depending on the type of fish. I wouldn't go for a pair of Bettas, because the male will kill the female. A Male Betta and a pair of Live Bearers be fine for that tank.

no guppys with the betta! bettas hate anything with a long flowing colourful tail.

Not always. I've seen betta's and guppies together many times.

my room mate called me and my girlfriend in his room one day and had 2 male betta's in a tank(he knew better)......well you would think i would write they tore in to each other but for some crazy reason they never really did....i would check on them and sometimes see a torn fin,but they lived together untill he changed his tank almost a yr later...that might have been a 1 in a 1,000,000 but it happend....i wouldnt think your odds are good keeping those 2 breeds but after seeing that. you just never know sometimes.
