Desktop planted shrimp aquarium?

I have been looking into buying one around 5 gallons or less for the purpose of keeping cherry shrimp and plants. I am pretty open and i like the look of the Fluval Spec 5, but it is a little pricey. Does anyone have experience with this one or recommend a different one for whatever reason?

If you know some Asian LFS in your area than you can get those 5~10 Gallons rimless glass tank and buy a snap/screw on LED light both for under $50 but the price different between Fluval spec vs those Asian rimless tank around 20~30 bucks so I would shop around and buy Fluval spec casue it will look nicer with complete package

I have a similar setup based on a fluval chi. I still have the setup but replaced the light/filter combo with an azoo hob and finnex fugeray light and couldn't be happier.

i was looking at the Chi as well. it is a little cheaper and looks aesthetically pleasing based on the ads. Does the water evaporate quickly on it?

I add about 1/2-1 gallon a week, less in summer more in winter.

i dont think that one is around any more. It looks like its been discontinued and redesigned as the Nano Flora.

i actually just updated my desktop planted shrimp tank thread. my tank is a custom acrylic one i found at a shop that specializes in small fish, shrimp, and plants tho. maybe hunt around for a shop like that since i snagged mine for like $20.

we have at least one lfs that also customizes tanks. i never asked them because i figured it would be the equivalent of buying one of the premade setups. i will have to look into it.
