I had a piece if Driftwood in my toilet canister which is normal for me. Well my mother in law went and add one of those toilet canister blocks while the damn wood was still in there. I'm upset because there is no way she didn't see the wood.

Is there anyway I can remove the toxins from the wood as the wood soaked in the stuff for two freaking days.

Do not think I would chance that one myself if I recall those blocks are fairly caustic stuff.

I don't think it toxic enough to kill anything yet O.O
Anyway, just soak in bucket of clean water for few days (change water every day), or boil it, or boil some water then pure on it in a bucket.

Sure glad I no longer have a mother-in-law.

Maybe if you really want to save that chunk of wood let it sit out in the sun so it has time to dry out after you boil it and soak it? Might be worth a shot if you want to keep it and it was just a bleach tab. I have cleaned some stuff in my tank with bleach before and then after rinsing it I left it in the yard on a towel for a few days. I rinsed it again and then popped it back in. They were ceramic pieces though, so maybe use the wood as a decoration for something else since it might have the chemicals deep in there.

Sounds seriously risky without a lot of soaking / bleaching and cleaning... and even then im not sure i would use it myself...

If you do decide to try it out, get a container to place the wood in, and find some cheap fish to test the waters with... if they die then you know probably best to chuck the wood... coz you dont want whatever might leech out in your main display...
