I'm just getting into African cichlids. I have 5 blue dolphins and 1 malawi eye biter that are all currently 1". Eventually they will be moving from quarantine to a 150g. I have some questions and would appreciate any help or advice.

How many blue dolphins m/f sex ratio should I keep for a good sized colony?

What other tank mates can I add that have nice color and keep aggression level down?

What brands of food do you feed your Africans?

Best tank cleaners to add with Africans?

I use nls for food try for 2 males 4 females if the Comp a male might be aggressive towards the blue dolphins at least my male was and for bottom feeders get sydontis multipunctatis they are expensive tho and you have to get at least four for or more good luck:)

It's a Eureka Red- You could go w/albino peacocks-usually less aggressive-you could add a lot of peacocks to that tank,at that size,a copadichromis azureus, Buccocrhomis Notatania, other haps are nice also-Star sapphire-depends on what colors you want

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into them. Is it best to only add males of these fish you mentioned? Basically, I'm going for anything less agressive with great color and a small variety would be nice.

you could do that, but 5 male dolphins-no-a colony of dolphins 2m4fe is good and could add another pair or 2 of other haps.some get really big so that is a factor.so many factors.........
