I recently picked a couple of new cichlids. The guy I purchased from had a bunch of what he said were pure Devil fry. He showed me the parents,both of which were orange and white. The little guys I picked up are barred with a little red tipping on the fins. I'm pretty sure they are midas/devil mix. Would that be a correct assumption to make? Hopefully this question isn't too ignorant. I have not seen a barred Devil before. Wanting to raise up a cool wet pet. Please set me straight. Thanks.

it's perfectly normal for midas or devil fry to start out barred and then peel around 3-4". This is typical for true labiatus and citrinellum. Did the guy you got them from tell you who he acquired his pair from?
