Can anyone help sexing my diadema. I bought them as a couple, but I do not see major differences.

I think this is the male, because it's dominate

And this must be the female

Thanks ;)

Literature states this species has no sexual dimorphism, so I am thinking venting would be the only way to tell for sure. The top fish has noticably longer fins, but that is usually a sign of dominance. The lower fish seems much more full in the stomach area, usually a female trait ... especially if not the dominate fish and not getting as much to eat.

Thank's you for sharing. It's really hard to sex them, and the strange thing is that the female (I think) is slightly larger than the supposed male. :screwy:

Beautiful Diadema you have there. The body shape of the second one looks to be a bit more plump and round - which could indicate a female.
