Hello, so i bought a master test kit today and i'm just wondering if you guys could tell me if my water parameters are low/high/normal?

For Ammonia it read zero Mg/L
For Nitrite it also read zero Mg/L
Nitrate however read 5 mg/L.

Can anyone tell me if these sound like healthy numbers?

Essentially perfect...but I suspect you already know that.

Well i figured the ammonia and nitrite being zero were a good thing, but i was unsure if the nitrate levels were too high/low as i know that some nitrates are normal, but not too much.

straight from the tap my nitrate is 20... lucky..

Infamous, the nitrate should not be more than 20. Some fish and inverts tend to react negatively if the nitrate is higher than that.

Matt724, in essence, test kits are extremely important. Avoid test strips. Liquid test kits by API is a worthy investment due to their reliability and longevity lasting you a few years (provided it is not expired). This is better than losing a fish to assumptions that the water is "fine", "perfect", etc.
