Diagonal Overflow box for 260g

Planning on an 260g tank with a sump. I am not totally sold on putting an overflow box as it would look like a sore thumb in the tank, specially with the corners sticking out. I was wondering if a diagonal overflow in the corner would work the same way.

The down side of using a diagonal weir instead of a rectangular box is that that, If you make allowance for the bulkhead(s) it tends to intrude too far into the tank itself.
