Hey, so have this motoro pup, have had him for about 2 months, hes in a tank with a retic who ive had for about a year now. They are fine together, up until now everything has been just fine, but all of a sudden the motoro has stopped eating! Hes usually a pig! I cant figure out why, wq is fine, 40% wc is done twice weekly, i prazi pro'ed the tank to see if that would help but for the last two days he just hasnt eaten!
This may be the cause but im not sure, he seems to be only breathing through one spiracle and only inflating one lung. There is now visual damage to that side of him besides a little wrinkling in the skin, tell me if pics would help, ill see if i can snap a few!
Please help, im starting to get a little worried about him,

sorry, feeding cut up earthworms, cut up shrimp, tried talapia although he never actually took that, when i put in the shrimp or anything, he just swims away like hes afraid. He also is in the process of shedding his barb if that helps

have no idea how it got damaged, doesnt look damaged at all, no physical signs, just looks like hes not using it. im tryna snap some shots, hes hiding under gravel so cant get one right now

i think ive heard when they only use one spiracle its the water condition i have a bad memory but i had a ray that did that and it eventually stoped when my amonia etc... was back to normal

well the lights went through their day - evening and now night phase hes out and looking for food using both spiracles, but he still doesnt have the biggest appetite. I put in some more worms and shrimp, he ate 1 little cup up piece of worm and hid, not sure whats up with him...

Please test the water daily for PH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate.

Also do a sample test on the tap water.

I assume you are using a dechlorinator on the tap water.

Dont use dip strips and make sure the test kits are in date.

If this does not lead to an obvious problem then you could test for copper etc..or it could be Gill Fluke but I know little about them and expect water quality could be the issue.

What size tank and what filtration and media are you using?
