Diatom Filters..Anyone use them?

I have several Diatom filters and I love them! I don't need to use them alot but after I stir up the fines in my planted tank this little one is awesome. It's called the DIATOMAGIC FILTER by Whisper. Pretty cool little invention indeed. After I put a good charge of diatom powder in it I followed it up with a little bit of powdered activated carbon. BAM!,Crystal clear water in a jiffy.

I don't have a diatom filter, but would like to get one sometime. I've heard that diatom filters are good when treating/or medicating for parasites... catches alot of the 'free-floating' stuff?!! :y220e:

Yeah jack..they even catch the ich spores ... i spoke to a friend recently about it. and i have an officemate that uses it on a regular basis.

I do water changes every 3 days but my water is not as clear as i would like it to be sometimes. I would def get one in the near future.

Let me know if you want to get rid of one. Im looking to get one myself. UV filters
and regular water changes are not enough sometimes.

You should see how the tank is after you use a diatom filter.
Its cleaner than EVIAN and im not even joking.
