I went to the local pet store and I bought an Oscar they had. It is the same size as mine. I felt bad it was covered in marks and was in a 30 gallon tank. It was very subordinate to a small 4 inch Oscar, that was in with it.

Well long story short, it is in with my 55 gallon. And they are getting along so far. After my current Oscar had to show off a big. But I finally talked my mother into letting me get a bigger tank. I have to figure out what size I want and I also have to add support to my floors. Same pet store has a 90 gallon and a 125 gallon. Also, I can do a payment plan.
Would the 125 gallon or the 90 gallon be better?

My current stock:

2 Tiger Oscars
2 Raphael Catfish
1 Lace Catfish -My sister threatened to take her daughter's tank down and let everything die. I couldn't let her do that. So I took him.-

I'll tell you what i've found to be sound advice. Get the largest tank that you can afford and have room for. There are great deals to be found on big tanks if you are willing to take the time to look. Just don't forget that you're going to have to upgrade your filtration with a larger tank.
For the O's, without a doubt I would go for at least a 110 for the two, 120 would be better, and they would appreciate an even larger tank. I've grown out O's to be over 15" long, so the extra space (and ability to accomodate their messy eating habits) will be much appreciated. Good luck.

Okay thanks. Another LFS has used tanks they sell for other people. I am going to look there. They usually have big tanks. Since they do large reef tanks.

If you are not in a desperate situation tehn look around for a good price. Get as big as you can get. Whether it is tank or filtration.

That's what I am doing. I have been looking on craigslist. But big tanks come fully equipped either fish or saltwater.

I ran into that as well. Have you posted a WTB add on craigslist? That is what I did and I got a sweet deal on a 150 with stand. It use to be a saltwater tank, but it was pretty well cleaned out when I went to pick it up.

Yes, try a want ad. Might get nothing, but it's worth a shot.

BTW: Do you have an ID for your lace cat that your rescued?. If this is a Syno. Nigriventris, would be too small as a tank-mate for your oscars.

No it isn't Nigriventris. I did have one. I called it my little cugly baby. I call it a lace catfish, it is a African Featherfin catfish or Synodontis eupterus. Supposed to get 8" or bigger.
