Did anyone catch the royal wedding?

I was up around the time when the back half was being broadcast live, but I chose not to watch it.
I said to myself, "Screw this crap: the British monarchy doesn't matter any more beyond a few things, such as heading the Church of England, and are mainly just figureheads. Besides, this is America and this doesn't really affect us too much beyond a few things in public relations between our two countries," and then I switched channels to Animal Planet to watch The Crocodile Hunter swim with freshwater crocodiles and capture them in the water by hand.
I think that I made the right choice on what to watch.

I was also thinking, "Jeez, Alabama's pretty well flattened as are some other states; some states and many parts of others are under a state of emergency for various reasons yet the royal wedding is the first thing on the news and many other T.V. channels. Way to be, American media; way to be..." And this is why I use the Internet to find news stories that actually matter rather than some of this fluff that is purportedly "important/breaking news" and such.
