Did I buy a lemon Endli?

Hi, last week while checking some BichirBichirs out, I purchased 2 juvi Endli from the sam guy.

There were about 50 in a tank all normal sandy color. 2 were a grey color with black markings.
I thought this looked awesome so I got 1 of each color.

They are both together in my tank now and both still have their different colors.
But a friend visiting has now told me that the grey color means the Endli is sick and will probably die. Any truth to this?

I will be gutted, as this guy is the more active of the 2, and has real character!

your endlis looks normal, nothing wrong with them,
here, a young endli will look rather gray and as their grow the color will turn rather brown just like the other one that you have there. But it really also depends on the tank set up.

They look good and should not die suddenly.

And tiger lover are those fish in your sig in the same tank,if so how big is it and put some pics up.

yea your color varies and being dark doesnt mean its goin to die. lol nice endlis though!

ya it depends on the substrate you put, but ur endli looks nice!
my WC del changes from light to dark and dark to light because of the sand or rock i have

When i got my 3" endli he was also grey.. At the moment he's 7" and hes a bit brownish..
So you got nothing to worry about.. Feed them well and measure them frequently.. It's amazing how fast they grow.. good luck.
