All of the cichla orinocensis that I have seen on the pbass forums and on other websites look alot cooler. Will the color get better as it grows?

Do pbass get better colors as they grow older?

Deffinatley.

When they are juvie (like yours) they pretty much have no color at all.

:clap cool, what are some things I could feed my pbass to enhance color?

You can't really expect the colour to come out right away, like most fish they are most at there dullest colouration when they are young, you can buy growth enhancing pellets which most cichlids accept also colour enhancing pellets but me personally i wouldn't go for these chemical made pellets.

Best thing for fish colouration IMO is goo diet, such as a vary in foods mix there diet up a little, prawns, pellets, worms, bugs live fish all have the vital elements in which fish can benifit from !

At that small of a size you are best off just feeding it guppies or rosies whatever it can handle without much trouble. I would wait until it is a safer size (5-6 inches) before introducing it to new foods because small peacocks can be very fussy. Most peacocks enjoy bloodworms alot IME. Just make sure they are eating well and don't over feed them and the color will come with size.

No matter how much color enhancing food you feed it at this stage...it will still be dull.
