i have a pair of cons that have laid several batches but keep eating the babies so this time i told myself i would seperate the babies asap. i did this but when i did i noticed that the babies still had their egg sacks...is this too early and if not what and when should i start feeding? thanks for the help

Not too early. (for your predicament.) Just make sure current doesn't push the young away from the egg yolks once they pop outta them. They need to feed on the sacs for a couple days.
Once they become free swimming (and spreading themselves out) you can start feeding them fry food. I usually take an ugly-algae-covered rock from another tank and pop it in as an alternative food source as well.

I've had LESS success with this seperation method, but in your prediciment it seems like the only way. I think only small amount made it in mine though, cause they were seperated from their egg yolks as soon as they popped out and became wigglers. I would suggest no substrate.

Just curious, did the kids ever make it to wigglers before or were the eggs always eaten?

they did make it to wigglers and then were eaten. bad news though i lost all the babies...i put them in a breeding chamber inside the tank with the parents last night and i woke up to find all the babies dead and covered in a white fungus looking substance? any idea y this would happen...next time i think im just gonna leave alone till they are at least free swimming

Hi. You can move the wigglers to a separate tank but they have to be near a mild stream of aeration. If you can move the entire substrate without removing the eggs from it, set it leaning or slanted against the side of the tank and set the MILD stream of air just a couple of inches below and to the side of it. Start feeding the fry only when free swimming. Baby brine shrimp or very fine food will do. Good luck.
