Did Seachem Matrix change?

Did seachem matrix change? Or did just the product information change?

According to the website-

Each liter of Matrix™ provides as much surface (<~700 m2) as 170 liters of plastic balls!
Use 500 mL of Matrix™ for each 200 L (50 gallons*) of water


I just ordered 6L online and the package states-

Each liter of matrix provides over 160,000cm2 (170 sq ft) of surface, equivalent to over 40L (10 US gallons) of typical plastic ball media!
Use 2L of Matrix for every 20 US gallons of water.
