For those who have tried a divider between your male and female FH's; did they eventually learn to co-exist without the divider?

I tried to have one of my females share a tank with a divider and even after 2 months; they still couldn't co-exist without the divider. Is 2 months with a divider "not" long enough?

Most will never coexist outside of breeding.

I currently have 2 pairs that do ok without a divider. I will seperate them. Again because they do scratch each other up a little but not too bad. I like to keep them acquainted so breeding runs smoother when tubes drop.

Did you have to keep them separate at first and eventually they just got use to each other? Or were they always able to co-exist from the beginning?

well in my case my pair also seems to do ok they live together from day one and last 3 months spwaned 2 times

What size tanks do you have them in and how large are they? Did you get them when they were still small and raise them together?

Mine are still small. Top pic is 4-4.5" in a 240g. That tank has half inch glass and with the lights my cell pics always come out that color. Bottom pic are 4.5-5". They are in a 150g. Both pairs only have a section of the tank. Dividers seperating them from other fish
