We got our Dat this past week (Father's Day). We tried feeding him pellets, but he acted as if he didn't even see them in the tank. He has also ignored things we've put in like frozen shrimp and frozen bloodworms. The only things he has eaten so far are all four of our giant danios (they were dithers, so not the biggest loss I guess), and some nightcrawlers. We are assuming he's been fed only feeders since being in captivity, and we know that's all he's eaten since being at the store we got him from.

I know that we can starve him into eating pellets, but our question right now is if a diet of nightcrawlers is *bad* for him. The other day he ate four at one 'sitting', and since then has eaten two at a time each day. Is this very unhealthy for him? We're worried about giving him feeders because of the potential of them being diseased...
Any ideas for other things we could add to his diet right now before we eventually starve him to eat pellets?

its very very hard to get any tiger to eat pellets harder than any other fish

dont feed him anymore live foods just frozen prawn their is no need for it

the rules of my tank are EAT OR DIE no matter how much the fish cost i have never had a fish die of stavation

my kids hate carrots but if thats all i put on the table for 1 week im dam sure they would eat them

it would take a very foolish fish to die of starvation when their is food in front of him daily

frozen prawn seam to be most tigers fav food dont defrost it just brake it into small bite size bits and throw it in frozen when its frozen it seams to sink slower from what i have seen in the past tigers dont like taking food from the tank base as much as when its in mid water

their is no problem feeding frozen prawn i have been feeding this way for 5yrs+

i can take up to 6 weeks to get them eatting frozen foods be strong and dont give in
