Difference Between: Butterfly Clown and normal Clown plec

The title says it all, is there an actual difference cause i have the chance to get a butterfly clown plec that cost $70 or a normal clown plec thats $35, i already have 2 normal clowns and wondering if its worth getting the butterfly plec?? so is there any difference mfker's?

As far as I know...Butterfly Plecos will have their pectoral fins overlap their pelvic fins.

Butterfly plec usually refers to a Dekeyseria sp., eiher L052 or L168 (brachyura). They're nice fish. Clowns are Panaque maccus, a different sp.

$35 for a clown plec....WOW!! They are 6-8 bucks here.....

Yer man over in aus everything is really really expensive! i would love to get lots of clown plecs but they cost alot. And btw those prices are wholesale prices and the plecs are only 4 cm !!!!!!!!! so $35 x 3 and thats teh price they are retail !!!!!!!

butterfly l168 always misslabled ass a clown pleco by whoslaers and lfs depending on place wholesale for $40 at 8cm then retail at $80

clown l104 vary cool lil pleco wholesale for $20-$30 at 4cm usualy around $50 retail

id personaly go for the 104
168s are known fore being fine for a week the suddenly dieing
this is because most larger 1s are wild cort and these do not fair well
just mainly this particular species if you are gona get sum get local breds or german bred 1s
the 104 has been bred in aus for a wile now alot more easer to breed than the 168
and in my experiance a super hardy lil cretter

id go for 104 the true clown
