Difference between juruense and Tigs

Are they the same species but different color or are they a different specie? How big do they get and how are they different? Thanks for any infos.

no thay are not the same species
thay can get up to 36"
but the big differents is a little juruense is $50 and a little tig is $200
that is why a juruense is called a poor mans tigrinus

I've never seen a tig or a jur over 30".

The main difference is the length of the mouth and the definition and color of the stripes. Tigs are really high contrast.

You've seen a 30" Brachyplatystoma tigrinum (Zebra Shovelnose)?
Everything I've read says they max at 24". Was I misinformed?

Nope, different places list them as different sizes. I should have said I've never seen one over the "claimed" 30"

I have seen one that was a touch over 2 ft on here, but I can't remember who had it.

Thanx for the info. All I know is I would love to lay my eyes on a big 30"er.
