Difference between male and female piranha's?

Hard to tell some say you can't tell,but some say females are a little thicker or more robust,best way is to have a tank full wait for them to pair up and see which one raises her skirt and lays the egg's Hope this help's good luck
 
Ask any questions you want and welcome to MFK! I have never been able to tell them apart.

imo this is the only way to tell.
 
the LFS i bought mine from breeds all their own piranha.. they say the same thing. get many and what till they pair off.. they are in the process of doing this now they have 2 tanks with about 12 piranha's in them... they also told me the water conditions have to be close to perfect and you need certain plant life to get them to pair off and lay eggs.
