difference between male/female

I searched but there are only a few older threads about venting cichlas. I had a question about their anal fins. Right now i have 2 monos both about 7" and you can visibly see a difference in their anal fins.

Mono 1 (in the middle) has a bigger wider anal fin

Mono 2 has a thinner anal fin

Is the top a male and bottom a female? If this is correct, is this true for all species of cichlas? Thank you in advance.
 
There is a way to sex pbass by the shape of their anal fin but i never really quite tell the difference unless they were bigger fish....males have a pointier anal fin and the females have a more round....i always vent them anyways....but thats y i ask x tank all the time....juat pm him hes very accurate....
 
Hello everybody :)

Any help determining the sex of this one would be much appreciated. My guess is female since theres no lump on the head, and it's not very dominant towards the somewhat smaller ocellaris/orinoguensis. Rather the other way around, some of them seem to be SLIGHTLY on the dominant side...
