Besides these what are other types of wood that's good for aquarium use? I recently went hiking and picked up some wood. Idk if they're good to use cause idk what kind of wood they are.

If you picked it up off the ground, probably best not to use it. Itll take forever to sink, and your water will look like iced tea for a year or so. If you picked it out of the water, it's probably fine. Gotta sterilize it first tho to avoid hitchhikers. People boil it, but I've never been interested in a peice of driftwood that would fit in my stock pot lol.

One is dead wood found in a peat bog/swampy area, one is dead wood washed up on a shore line. I live near the coast so i prefer driftwood, in part because it's been bleached of tannins and normally very clean from the waves washing over it, but mostly because it's free lol
