how can you tell the differences between the congicus and endlicheri? is the congi just more pale? or is there some other way to tell

Polypterus Congicus have thin barred 5-7 of them. and no other markings
Polypterus Endlicheri have 3-4 broad stripes and have an apperance to Granite

Since its been ask many time I'm just gonna cut and paste my post from the other similar tread.

Difference between them is that P.e congicus have racing stripes on the forehead and stop around the pectoral area. Just like lapradeis they have racing stripes as well. As for the P. e. endlicheri the racing stripes are not present. P. e congicus have 8+ stripes while P. e. endlicheri have 4-7 stripes. Size when they grow will also tell you the big difference between the two. P. e congicus grows much bigger.
Best way to really tell the difference is to actually experience keeping both. That way you can take some pics and post them here. Lots of people will jump in and ID them for ya.

ill just look for racing stripes
are they present on little guys? the ones im looking at getting are around 2-3 inches.. ive never actually seen them but the lfs owner says they are congis..

Taking pics is always the best option to help you ID.
