So i went to my LFS today and they had a trade in LFS. The customer claimed it was in a cichlid tank and was getting beat up. When I had a look at it, it really looks like it has a dorsal fin that has been torn up. I have never seen one of these in Australia, and the guys at the LFS have also never seen one come through before. They are trying to source one for me though. After a bit of talk back and forth and not being able to come to a conclusion of what it is exactly, or if there is actually something wrong with it, I am allowed to take him home for free!
I have 2 pictures, maybe not the clearest. He would not stay still even in the bag! I did get to touch it at the store, and it did feel soft on the top, like i expect a fin to feel like.

Check the pictures and let me know what you think, or if you can confirm what it is.

There has been a new hybrid (new to me anyways) that has developed. It's a hybrid of a Mormyrid and BGK. Definitely looks pretty beat up. Since they are scaleless fish, I would use some Melafix, but only use half the dosage recommended.

So you think it is one of those new hybrids?
Yea, I am wary of using Melafix. I also have loaches and an elephant nose in the same tank. So far he does not seem to be badly effected by being beat up. At least no one in my tank should beat him up. He does seem a bit soft. My raphael cat and small upside down cat was able to chase him out of a cave.
