I have heard everything about EBJD and how they are sensitive and almost non aggressive.. I got one. He is just over 2 inches and, he is not like what I have heard about. He is pretty aggressive, he chases around a over 3 inch Green Terror from one end of the tank to the next (55 gal for now). When it's time to eat, he is even more of a bully. Even gives chase to the Clown Loaches. Has anybody had one like this? Is this odd? I don't know if I would be considered lucky or what to think reallyl...:screwy:
My camera sucks, I'm getting a new one but this is the only picture I could grab of the little guy. Only thing I did really notice is his dorsal fin trails go past the end of his tail already.
Any feedback on this behavior would be awesome!

its sound to me like you have a healthy ebjd , the real healthy are just like regular ebjds , my trio act the same way , there growing fast and are pigs. pics would help but it sounds to me like u have a quality ebjd

I'm working on some decent pics but, thanks for the input cornbread_5
I'm a little more at ease thinking he is just good quality and not some hybrid freak :D

i had one like that. he was an *** hole. he was about 3.5" and had been beat up when he was young. in my tank he beat up my jurupari and brasilisness, who was a bully before, and killed a silver dat.

Wow! killed a dat really? Dats have always been punks from my experience. That is one tough fish I don't even think many regular jd could take out a datnoid. I guess its all in personality. I haven't kept them yet because they are way to much money in my area, but at the fish stores I have see some real tough guy ebjds. They have come down in price lately which I find odd with the latest increase in all the other fish,:irked: but $40 is the cheapest and I hear that in some places they can go for $20-$25.

$40, in Australia any LFS would sell a 1inch ELBJD for $250

Mine was $50, I have seen some for 25-30 range as well and they didn't look nearly as good. Maybe you really do get what you pay for...
