Is see some people using a slightly heavier glass on their tank front glass. What are the pros and cons of using a thicker guage glass a the front on a tank e.g. a 10mm tank with 12mm front glass, or a 12mm tank with a 15mm front glass? What are advantages and drawbacks?

the only reason people do that is because most people tap on the glass and like idiots say FISHIE FISHIE FISHIE... and thats the mane reason wmy they do it... there isnt more pressure or weight on the front glass so there isnt a REAL logical reason.

The only thing i could think of is if someone had rocks in the tank like i do and they slid and hit the glass the thicker stuff would stand a higher chance.

PROs
Safer
Stronger

CONS
Cost
Weight
Greenish tint (unless Starphire glass)

although the pressure as a function of height is the same top to bottom anywhere in the tank.......there is more force on the front, back and bottom than on the ends of a normal tank..........as they have more surface area:popcorn:
