Hi all!

I was just wondering whats the difference or causing these guys to be totally different colors? Are they different species? I know this is a "Noob" question but I would really like it answered :D

Thanks,
Justin

In the picture you can't really tell but one is MUCH lighter then the other.

(First one is the darker one and the second one is the lighter one)

Both are Senegals. The difference in most species are the appearance. Also senegal tend to be the most active out of the other species [no idea why]. Different species have different growth rate and maximum length. There are also upper jaws and lower jaws.

Spirit is correct. There are individuals that vary from the herd as far as activity, a friend has an ornate that is fully as active as a senegal. The biggest differences are the markings and number of dorsal finlets, as well as jaw placements. The two you have in the pictures are well within normal variations for senegals.(One of my favorites, common or not, they've got "it", lol)
There are albino and leucistic(I think I spelled that wrong) senegals, but they tend to be snowy white.

I agree with king-el.
