So my friend and I spent the last two night taking a 55 gallon apart to reseal. We just last night we got the bright idea of using acetone. Well the acetone worked very well and after a day and half of work the tank was apart and we were able to focus on the silicone on the pains. So this is what we were doing and we had the glass in the back of my truck and there was a light on the hood so we could see well my girlfriend came over and she jumped on the truck and knocked the light off and broke one of the 48 inches pieces of glass we had freed up. I was shocked and speechless. So I know now how to get a tank stripped down and to keep the girlfriend away from the process. Now my friend and I are going to build a plywood tank and use the remaining pieces. He is taking the broken piece and turning a TV into a tank. This fish has been great fun. Hope all enjoyed.
