Digging up earthworms for my fish :D:D

I was thinking about digging up some earthworms as a treat for convicts/some other SA cichlids I'm going to get tomorrow

Any tips on what to do to get them to come out?
I'll be looking in my backyard btw xD

Hammer a stake in the ground and either rub a dull saw or a piece of curved, ribbed metal on top it.. It's called worm grunting. Google it up.

Wait till it rains then look for them after dark. Use a flashlight and sneak up on them and grab them. look in flower beds

Walmart got banned from new york city so I've never been to one in my life

Make sure your sources are not riddled with pesticides.

Lay a large piece of wood out on the ground. This should encourage them to stay towards the surface longer.

But yes, make sure it is not covered in pesticides like Lupin had mention.
