I was thinking about digging up some earthworms as a treat for convicts/some other SA cichlids I'm going to get tomorrow :)

Any tips on what to do to get them to come out?
I'll be looking in my backyard btw xD

Mmm earthworms :drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::naughty:

or get some eexcercise and hardwork drilled into you

Hammer a stake in the ground and either rub a dull saw or a piece of curved, ribbed metal on top it.. It's called worm grunting. Google it up.

Wait till it rains then look for them after dark. Use a flashlight and sneak up on them and grab them. look in flower beds

Make sure your sources are not riddled with pesticides.;)

Lay a large piece of wood out on the ground. This should encourage them to stay towards the surface longer.

Or just water your lawn/garden. :headbang2
But yes, make sure it is not covered in pesticides like Lupin had mention.
