I just got a new Kodak P880 for my Bday (21st on 3/3) and I want to figure out what are the best settings for taking pics of my fish.

This is all i know so far...and im not sure...
1)Room lights off
2)Tank lights on
3)Flash off

What should the shutter be on? and what else should i know?

Thanks in advance fellow MFK'ers.

there was another thread on this earlier, and the magic answer is that there is no magic number. The best place to start is use as high of an ISO (sensitivity) as you can without getting grainy pictures. The higher the number the more noise it will produce. Also, try to use the lowest F number (aperture) to allow the most light in. The smaller the number, the bigger the "hole" will be that lets the light in. You will have decreased depth of field with bigger apertures, but that's generally not a problem with pictures of fish. As far as the shutter speed goes, it's totally dependent on the amount of available light. Start at something like 1/100 and if they're too dark try 1/80 and so on until you get the desired picture. Keep in mind that the slower the shutter is there is more of a chance of having blurred pics

Best recommendation for digi cams, is to just take a lot of pictures. It took me nearly 2 months to get use to my fuji digi cam, then my wife bought me a new sony. No complaints, but I had to learn a completely new cam.

Thanks for the help, i'll mess around with it this w/e when i go home from school.
